The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries visited a sea cage fish farm in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do to inspect the response to red tide and communicate with fishermen and local governments on-site. The MOF has raised the red tide crisis warning to “Caution” as the organisms first observed in Deukryang Bay, Jeollanam-do have spread to the waters off Jeollanam-do. The Ministry operates a red tide emergency response team and monitors the situation daily. Such on-site inspection was conducted so that the minister could directly check the situation and communicate with fishermen and local governments responding on-site. Trace amounts of red tide organisms were also observed in the waters off Namhae, Gyeongsangnam-do.
