On March 3rd, Minister Cho Seung Hwan of Oceans and Fisheries hosted a policy roundtable at the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion under the theme of the “Mission and Roles among R&D Institutions to Develop a New Marine Industry as a National Strategic Sector.”
 
During the roundtable, institutions including the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and affiliated institutes, such as the Korea Polar Research Institute and Korea Research Institute of Ships & Oceans Engineering, the National Institute of Biological Resources, Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion, and the National Institute of Fisheries Science shared each of their key initiatives in fostering new maritime sectors, as well as discussed ideas on how to strengthen R&D cooperation among institutions and on practical responses to major outstanding issues.
