The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF, Minister Kang Do-hyung) will hold a signing ceremony for the Joint Declaration by Labor, Management, and Government for the Sustainable Succession of Deep-Sea Vessel Maritime Expertise and Development of the Deep-Sea Industry on Wednesday, November 27 at The Plaza Hotel Seoul with the Korea Ocean Seafarers' Union (Chairman Park Jin-dong) and the Korea Overseas Fisheries' Association (Chairman Kim Young-gyu). This joint declaration by labor, management, and government is the result of an agreement reached by labor and management in the ocean industry for the first time in 10 years to address the pressing issue of deep-sea fishing vessels having difficulty departing on schedule due to the inability to secure crew members.
