In commemoration of June, the month of patriots and veterans, the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries visited the Daejeon Veterans Nursing Home on June 14. The nursing home was opened in 2012 to provide specialized nursing care services to veterans of national merit, bereaved families and residents in the region experiencing severe geriatric diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and stroke. Currently, a total of 221 national veterans receive treatment as inpatients and outpatients. After hearing the briefing on the nursing facility operations from Director Byun, Minister Kang visited the resident patients, including veterans receiving treatment in the rehabilitation facility, where he expressed his respect and gratitude, and encouraged the staff for their hard work in caring for and assisting with the rehabilitation of the elderly.
