The International Passenger Terminal of Busan Port announced its plans to hold an inaugural meeting together with the launching ceremony of the Young Seafarers Policy Committee. The purpose of the upcoming meeting is to inspire interest and participation among the young population in their 20s through 30s in innovation policies for national seafarer jobs. Recently, there have been shortfalls in the supply of seafarers on national ships due to the rapid aging of the younger population who tend to avoid long-term work aboard ships. In response, the Ministry of Oceans and Fishers explored ideas to better attract and encourage young seafarers to work for longer periods, together with the Young Seafarers Policy Committee.
