Site inspection with Busan Metropolitan City,the candidate location for the 2030 Busan World Expo

On March 24th, Minister Cho jointly conducted a site inspection with Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Port Authority of the candidate location for the 2030 Busan World Expo in preparation for the upcoming site inspection by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
 
The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, the Mayor of Busan, and the President of the Busan Port Authority will directly oversee the holistic review of the site inspection, including project progress as well as the traffic, safety, and environment issues surrounding the Expo, and plan to implement measures related to areas of improvement.
In addition, the public facilities constructed in December 2022, including roads and parks, will open fully to the public before the visit by BIE in April to convey the messages of a ‘prepared nation’ and a ‘prepared city‘ for the successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo. The process for the handover of the public facilities to the City of Busan will also be accelerated.
