Cho Seung Hwan, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, held a Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ 2023 Policy Advisory Committee meeting on February 1. During the meeting, the Ministry explained its policy direction towards a healthy maritime economy and solid living for the people, and engaged in in-depth discussions with Policy Advisory Committee members about specific action plans.

Minister Cho stated, “The Ministry is looking to focus on promoting vitality of the private sector, overhauling Korea’s economic fundamentals as we prepare for the future, and supporting a recovery of livelihoods in order to work through the multi-faceted escalating economic crisis stoked by staggering inflation rates and interest rates, and exchange rate volatility that Korea faces this year […] We are seeking your honest advice so that we can continue to be faithful to our intrinsic mission and role in 2023.”
