Launching Ceremony for K-Fish Chef Expedition to be Held for “Being the Center of the World Market”

 

- Delivering the taste and value of Korean seafood to the world with the world's renowned chefs

 

 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Kang Do-hyung) announced that it would hold the launching ceremony for the K-Fish Chef Expedition at the Gwangmyeong K-Seafood Media Studio on Thursday, June 5 and begin a full-fledged journey to promote Korean seafood products worldwide.

 

 The K-Fish Chef Expedition is a project designed to promote the excellence and value of Korean seafood to the world through collaboration with renowned chefs worldwide. Joining the expedition are American chef André Rush and Italian chef Fabrizio Ferrari.

 

 André Rush is a renowned American chef with experience in preparing state dinners at the White House. He has garnered worldwide attention for his impressive physique and charismatic presence. He has been active as a K-Food evangelist recently, appearing in various TV programs including the American restaurant renovation reality show “Kitchen Commando (2023-)” and the Netflix series “Culinary Class Wars (2024).”

 

 Fabrizio Ferrari is a Michelin 1-star chef who is famous for his deep understanding of authentic Italian cuisine and craftsmanship. He has also appeared on various broadcasts including the cooking survival show "Korean Food Battle (2018)" and the Netflix series “Culinary Class Wars (2024),” continuing his activities as a food ambassador that connects food cultures worldwide.

 

 The launching ceremony will feature a K-Fish PR video as well as chef's cooking demonstrations (gim (dried laver) chips and abalone taco by André Rush, fish cake involtini by Fabrizio Ferrari), including interviews and filming locations. The video and content will be broadcast through various channels including the K-Fish Cooking Show and PR center as well as MOF's YouTube channel and the K-Fish website (www.kfish.co.kr), social media platforms (SNS), and outdoor advertisements to promote the appeal of Korean seafood products.

 

 Moreover, the K-Fish Chef Expedition will host a "Cooking Show" and a "Cooking Class" in Hawaii, USA in August 2025 and in Milan, Italy in October and will also operate a K-Fish promotional experience center.

 

 Through this project, MOF aims to enhance K-Fish's premium image, raise consumer awareness, and increase the reliability and recognition of the K-Fish brand by collaborating with leading chefs.

 

 “The K-Fish Chef Expedition is a meaningful attempt and a steppingstone for directly showcasing the excellence of Korean seafood products on the world stage. We will actively support the development of global markets with famous chefs and ensure that K-FISH seafood products can naturally appear on tables around the world,” Minister Kang Do-hyung said.
