The Path of Fish’s Life Exhibiting Photos of "Fishways!"

- Accepting applications for the “7th Fishway Photo/Short-form Video Contest” from September 1 to October 10

 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) will now accept submissions for the 7th Fishway* Photo/Short-Form Video Contest.

 *An ecological passage built into dams and underwater weirs to block the flow of water and allow fish and other aquatic organisms to pass through rivers and streams unimpeded.

 Anyone residing in Korea can participate in the contest, which is now in its seventh year. Contestants can take photos or shoot short videos (60 seconds or less) of beautiful fishways installed in rivers and streams across Korea and scenes highlighting the importance of fish paths, and submit them through the National Fishway Information System website.

 A short-form category has been newly established this year, along with the photography category, to allow the submission of photos taken with a regular camera as well as with a mobile phone, as was the case last year.

 A total of twenty-four works will be selected and awarded - including the winners of one Grand Prize, three Best Prizes, five Excellence Prizes, and fifteen Honorable Mentions - by evaluating the submissions’ conformity with the criteria of theme, artistry, and promotional usability. The winning works will also be used to promote fishways. Please refer to the National Fishway Information System website for more detailed information on how to participate in the contest.
