- '2021 K-Seafood Global Weeks’ Event held from November 6 to November 28 -
The ‘2021 K-Seafood Global Weeks’ (hereinafter, ‘KGW’) will be held from November 6 (Sat) to November 28 (Sun) to raise up the awareness of K-seafood and promote its exports.
The fifth KGW Event will be held at 424 online and offline distribution channels in 16 countries during the global consumption peak season including Single’s Day in China(November 11), Black Friday in USA(November 26), etc.
* China, USA, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, EAU, Spain, Russia, Australia, Czech Republic, Colombia, Kuwait
In particular, it plans to have promotion and merchandising events in connection with 26 online distribution channels. with huge number of subscribers including Amazon in USA, Taobao in China, Shopee in Thailand, etc. K-seafood will be introduced through about 400 large distribution stores, franchises and cultural facilities popular to local residents including Dukki Tteokbokki advanced into H marts in USA and Taiwan, Estella Heights shopping malls in Vietnam, etc.
In addition, K-seafood promotional contents, in which an actress YEO JEONG CHO plays a honorary ambassador role for K-seafood export will attract foreign consumers’ attention and a variety of online promotion and merchandising events connected with the K-seafood Hall* established in foreign famous online malls will help to maximize promotion effects.
* K-Seafood Hall : foreign major online shopping malls where only K-seafood is exclusively sold, such as Amazon in USA, H-Fresh, Taobao in China, Shopee in Thailand/Singapore, etc.
A seafood exhibition and a video export conference in connection with ‘the K-Exhibition (November 8 ~ November 11, COEX in Seoul)’ will be held in the joint with 6 departments including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, etc. It will promote a real-time sales broadcasting (live commerce) connected with famous online malls in Thailand and Singapore.
Junsuk KIM, the head of Fisheries Policy Office in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, explained, “We will support K-seafood to grow together with K-Culture which has recently gained popularity in the world.”, and he added “we hope that this event will help global potential customers know how excellent K-seafood is.”
