MOF to Support the Construction of Smart Factories for Fishery Food Products

- Collaboration with MSS to provide support for building smart factories and support for acquiring international certification, acquiring integrated brands for exporting fishery products, and providing unique corporate support services

 The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Kang Do-hyung) announced that it will recruit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and intermediate seafood manufacturing companies to participate in the 2025 Seafood Smart Factory* Construction Support Project by mid-April.

 * Smart Factory: A factory that integrates all operational processes from product planning to sales using ICT technology

 “Given the increasing global interest in Korean fishery products such as laver, there is a growing need to supply fishery products that meet international standards and tastes in a timely manner. Through this inter-ministerial collaboration project, we aim to promote the smart transformation of seafood manufacturing companies, enhance the value-added of our export items—which are primarily raw materials—and increase our share in the global market. The government will continue to expand support for seafood companies,” Minister Kang Do-hyung said.
