Signing of an MoU on the Prevention of Illegal Online Distribution of Veterinary Medicine

On October 31st (Tuesday), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (hereafter “MOF”) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (hereafter “MAFRA”) will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding on the Prevention of Illegal Online Distribution of Veterinary Medicine and others* with the Korea Online Shopping Association and K-Internet.

The MoU results from public-private cooperation to eradicate illegal online distribution of animal drugs and protect consumers from potential harm. The signing ceremony will be attended by National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok, MOF Minister Cho Seung Hwan, MAFRA Minister Chung Hwang-keum, CEO and Director General Hong Rae-hyung of NFQS, Commissioner Kim Jung-hee of APQA, Vice-president Kim Yoon-tae of KOLSA, and President Park Seongho of K-Internet.
The participating organizations plan to strengthen cooperation between the government and online companies by ▲ quickly blocking illegal online distribution of veterinary drugs and false and exaggerated advertisements, ▲ educating and promoting consumers to create a trusted online distribution culture, and ▲ establishing and operating a working council to seamlessly discuss ideas for mutual cooperation.
