The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) announced that it will conduct business reports of nine public institutions* in the Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonnam regions at the main conference room on Wednesday, January 14.

* Busan Port Authority; Korea Ocean Promotion Corporation; Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology; Korea Fisheries Resources Agency; Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology; National Maritime Museum of Korea (Busan); Ulsan Port Authority (Ulsan); National Ocean Science Museum (Uljin, Gyeongbuk Province); and Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (Yeosu, Jeonnam Province)

This business reporting was prepared at the MOF level to assess whether the heads of public institutions under its jurisdiction are performing their duties properly, have a clear understanding of their specific responsibilities, and demonstrate the willingness to align national policy directions. The entire business reporting process will be livestreamed through MOF's YouTube channel and shared with the public in real time.

Attendees at the business reporting will include the Acting Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, relevant bureau and office directors and staff, and the heads of public institutions. Each institution will report on its key implementation plans in line with national policy directions and national tasks, management performance, improvements of external issues, and efforts toward regional development, followed by an open discussion among participants.

Additionally, videos of the business reports of public and related institutions in the metropolitan and Chungnam regions (January 6) and the Korea Coast Guard (January 7), conducted last week, will also be released on MOF's YouTube channel together with this live broadcast video.

"As public institutions are closely linked to the daily lives of people, I ask that you promote your core duties with a sense of urgency from the public's perspective and make every effort to ensure responsible management, including taking the lead in revitalizing the local economy,” said Acting Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Song-beom. He also emphasized, “I ask that you pool all your capabilities to implement national tasks such as the creation of an ocean capital zone and innovation in the fisheries and marine industries, which are being pursued with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.”
He further added, “In particular, at policy implementation sites, I urge you to work to ensure worker safety and prevent disasters through thorough and meticulous safety management.”
