Full Support for Cruise Ship Hotel Operationsfor 
the Successful Hosting of the APEC Summit
 
-Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries to inspect the floating hotel for the CEO Summit attendees
 
 
  The Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Chun Jae-soo) announced that it would be supporting the successful hosting of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) by supporting the safe and successful operation of the floating hotel for attendees of the CEO meeting (APEC Summit) during the APEC week.
 
  The 2025 Gyeongju APEC is the first event to be held in Korea in 20 years following the 2005 Busan Summit, and is expected to be a great opportunity to showcase Korea's status as an advanced nation to the world. In particular, the CEO Summit held during the APEC week is an important event where global economic leaders and IMF officials participate.
 
  Pohang Yeongil Bay Port will operate a floating hotel using a cruise ship from Tuesday, October 28 to Saturday, November 1 to provide a unique experience to businesspeople attending the CEO Summit. In particular, to ensure the safety of event attendees, the government plans to establish and operate a Counter-Terrorism Safety Situation Room at the port in cooperation with the relevant ministries. As the department responsible for port operations, MOF will begin emergency works in conjunction with the Counter-Terrorism Safety Situation Room to respond quickly to various emergency situations or administrative demands that may arise at ports. It is also actively cooperating, including providing discounts for using the facilities at Pohang Yeongil Bay Port where the cruise ship docks.
 
  Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Sung-bum plans to visit Pohang Yeongil Bay Port on Tuesday, October 28 when the arrival of guests at the floating hotel will begin, inspect the status of cruise ship arrivals, status of the landscape and safety facilities installed within the port, and encourage the staff at the Anti-Terrorism Safety Situation Room to ensure the successful welcome of visitors.
 
  "Since the APEC is an economic cooperation entity, the success of the CEO Summit is an important factor for the success of the APEC. We will do our best to support this event to solidify economic support in the region," Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Sung-bum said.
