I am HWANG Jongwoo, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea.
 

Our ocean is home to life with limitless potential and a strategic platform for our national economic dynamism.
 

To unlock this vast potential and establish a firm foundation for the prosperity of our people, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will focus on the following five key policy pillars:
 

To this end, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) will establish a forward-looking maritime hub in anticipation of the emerging era of the Arctic shipping routes.

 

First, we will bolster the global competitiveness of our fisheries and revitalize fishing communities.
 

Second, we will lead the AI-driven and green transformation of the shipping and port sectors.
 

Third, we will foster a healthy, and vibrant marine environment.
 

Fourth, we will ensure safe and secure seas for all.
 

Fifth, we will advance balanced national growth through the development of a Maritime Capital Region.
