Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo visited New York to attend the UN General Assembly and promoted the 2028 UN Ocean Conference at a banquet hosted by the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Nature and Climate. The event featured discussions and a question-and-answer session on the future of the blue economy and international cooperation for sustainable oceans. Delivering the final speech, Minister Hwang outlined the significance of the Fourth UN Ocean Conference, to be held in Busan in 2028, and the progress of preparations.
