Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Nam Jae-heon visited a marine cage farm and a land-based tank farm in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, on Thursday, August 6, to inspect responses to high water temperature disasters and encourage fishers. Following a series of heatwaves, the number of sea areas under high water temperature warnings, issued when temperatures of at least 28°C persist for three days, had risen from six to 17 as of August 3. With farm damage also reported in Chungnam, the visit was conducted to assess losses and review prevention and response arrangements.
