The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), led by Minister Hwang Jong-woo, signed an MOU in Busan on Thursday, August 13, to develop a maritime capital region and promote joint investment attraction. Signatories included the local governments of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do, the Busan and Ulsan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Gyeongsangnam-do Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation among MOF, the three local governments, and the regional business community to enhance the competitiveness of the southeastern regional economy, foster emerging industries based on maritime and port resources, and create a business-friendly investment environment.
