Minister Hwang Jong-woo Inspects Aquaculture Sites in Chungnam Following Reports of High Water Temperature Damage

Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo visited a marine cage farm in Ocheon-myeon, Boryeong, on Friday, August 21, to inspect responses to high water temperature disasters and encourage fishers. According to the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS), the water temperature in Cheonsu Bay, Chungnam, was 28.5°C as of 1 p.m. on August 18, remaining 0.5°C above the long-term average. With numerous damage reports from Korean rockfish and mullet farms in Chungnam, thorough prevention and response measures are needed.
