Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo inspected the joint training on Friday, June 5 for responding to electric vehicle fires aboard a car ferry docked at Jeju Port and presided over the Maritime Safety TF meeting at the South Sea Fisheries Management Service. The joint training verified the step-by-step response procedures from the dissemination of the situation to passenger evacuation and initial fire suppression in the event of a fire, and inspected the cooperative response system among related agencies including the National Fire Agency, Korea Coast Guard, and shipping companies. After inspecting the training, Minister Hwang checked the passenger ship's major facilities including the bridge with the crew one by one and urged the captain and other officials to ensure safe navigation.
