Minister Hwang Holds Meeting with Heads of Seafarer-Related Organizations

Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo held a meeting with representatives of seafarer-related organizations including the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Training Institute, Korea Seafarers Welfare and Employment Center, Korea Marine Officers Association, and Korea Ship Management Industry Association on Thursday, May 14 to discuss seafarer policies and hear opinions from the field. Current policy issues regarding seafarers were discussed during the meeting including the training of Korean marine officers, job creation for seafarers, and measures to improve seafarer welfare; various opinions were also presented, including difficulties faced in the field.
