Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo visited the Busan Joint Fish Market on Monday, April 13 to inspect the status of fisheries sales and the modernization project site, and held a meeting with fisheries organizations including the heads of fisheries cooperatives. Minister Hwang toured the early-morning auction site within the Busan Joint Fish Market to examine fisheries sales trends and fisheries resource monitoring tasks such as TAC, and praised the efforts of the officials while inspecting the progress of the modernization project. Minister Hwang also held a meeting attended by five representatives of fish market cooperative joint business corporations and discussed key pending issues of Busan's fisheries organizations, such as increasing support for tax-exempt fuel and measures to support small-scale fishermen and export companies.
