Vice Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Sungbum visited the Mega Mart Dongnae branch in Busan on Thursday, March 26 to inspect the operation of the discount event and participate in a tasting event for small-sized mackerel. The discount event runs for 19 days from Wednesday, March 25 to Sunday, April 12 to ease the burden on consumers' grocery expenses and offers discounts of up to 50% on seasonal and popular seafood species. In particular, in collaboration with large supermarkets, a pilot program featuring affordable mackerel was introduced to allow consumers to purchase small-sized mackerel—whose production has increased since last year—at reasonable prices.
