Acting Minister for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Sungbum held a high-level meeting with co-host Chile on Friday, March 13 to discuss the main agendas for the 4th UN Ocean Conference. This meeting was attended by representatives from Korea and Chile—co-hosts of the 4th UN Ocean Conference—as well as UN Special Envoy for Oceans* Peter Thomson and officials from the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), which manages the secretariat of the UN Ocean Conference. The participants discussed key matters regarding the 4th UN Ocean Conference including the operational format and schedule of the main event, core messages, and plans for establishing a cooperation framework.
