Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Chun Jae-soo visited the West Sea Fisheries Management Service in Mokpo, Jeollanam Province on Thursday, November 20 to inspect the status of activities to prevent fishing vessel accidents during the winter season and the response to Chinese illegal fishing vessels. As casualties continue to rise due to recent frequent accidents, Minister Chun ordered the close examination of the current status of safety management on our fishing vessels and measures to prevent fishing vessel accidents during winter, stressing that a permanent emergency response system should be maintained to ensure prompt support in the event of an accident.
