2026 Maritime and Fisheries Job Fair to Be Held
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Hwang Jong-woo) announced that it would be holding the 2026 Maritime and Fisheries Job Fair at BEXCO in Busan on Tuesday, September 8.
Jointly hosted by MOF and the Republic of Korea Navy with the participation of the National Association of Maritime School Professors and Korea Maritime Meister High School, the job fair is organized to provide young job seekers with diverse kinds of job information in the marine and fisheries sector and to attract outstanding young talent.
The job fair has been held annually since 2015 to promote excellent jobs in the marine and fisheries sector and to support customized matching between employers and job seekers.
Over the past 11 years, approximately 1,100 companies and organizations in the marine and fisheries sector have participated. The job fair has established itself as a leading job platform in the maritime and fisheries sector, achieving results such as 1,482 job seekers being hired.
This year, marking the 12th edition of the event, the event will run various programs including online recruitment support, on-site recruitment, customized job consulting, job lectures, and recruitment information sessions to help job seekers secure more practical employment opportunities.
In particular, it will be held in conjunction with the Bu-Ul-Gyeong Metropolitan Connection Job Fair jointly organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Busan Metropolitan City, Ulsan Metropolitan City, and Gyeongsangnam-do, taking advantage of MOF’s relocation to Busan.
The purpose is to link excellent companies and job seekers in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions in one place, breaking down not only industrial boundaries but also local government administrative boundaries and providing broader employment opportunities for young people as well as a venue for companies to secure diverse talent.
“Recently, the maritime and fisheries industry has been rapidly transitioning into high value-added future growth industries such as eco-friendly and autonomous vessels, automated ports, smart aquaculture, and marine leisure, and the demand for young talent to lead these new industries is continuously increasing as well. With the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan and the promotion of the Bu-Ul-Gyeong Metropolitan Connection project, I hope this maritime and fisheries job fair will serve as a venue of opportunity to connect even more companies with talented job seekers,” said Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Nam Jae-heon.
