The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Hwang Jong-woo) announced that it would be convening the first K-Logistics Consultative Body (TF)* and the Import-Export Logistics Support Meeting for 2026 in Seoul on Wednesday, April 29 with major logistics companies and public institutions involved in overseas logistics projects.

*Launched in February 2025, it is a public-private consultative body established to promote investment in overseas logistics businesses and facilitate information sharing among logistics companies and public institutions.

Amid rising oil prices driven by the Strait of Hormuz blockade and ongoing geopolitical conflicts, the burden on logistics companies is gradually increasing given the uncertainty in the international supply chain. Accordingly, MOF organized this meeting to identify the difficulties faced by logistics companies on the front lines of the supply chain and to explore ways of jointly overcoming the crisis.

The Ministry plans to provide comprehensive support to enable Korean logistics companies to secure overseas logistics hubs smoothly and maintain import and export logistics services. First, it plans to expand the Korea Ocean Business Corporation’s Global Logistics Infrastructure Investment Fund from the current KRW 200 billion to KRW 500 billion. In addition, it will strengthen financial support by increasing support for feasibility analyses required for overseas expansion from KRW 100 million to KRW 200 million per company. It also plans to operate communication channels through the K-Logistics Task Force (TF) to ease companies' burden by providing overseas logistics information and promoting joint investments between companies and public institutions.

This meeting will share government support policies and market trends arising from continued supply chain uncertainty, and hear the difficulties and opinions of logistics companies.

“The prolonged Middle East conflict has forced Korean shipping logistics companies into more difficult situations than ever before. We will do our best to overcome the supply chain crisis by having the government and private sector work together to provide multifaceted support,” Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Hwang Jong-woo said.
