Recruiting Participants for the Cruise Experience Program for a Unique Journey Starting on the Sea
- Recruiting 48 teams (96 people) for the 2026 cruise experience program... Applications to be accepted from 11:00 AM (KST) on April 22

  The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Hwang Jong-woo) announced that it would be recruiting 48 teams (96 people) for the 2026 Cruise Experience Program starting Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 AM (KST) to enhance public access to cruise tourism and expand the domestic cruise market.

  The Cruise Experience Program has been operating since 2016 to raise awareness of cruise tourism by providing citizens with the opportunity to experience cruise travel firsthand and support the revitalization of the domestic cruise industry to generate repeat demand.

  This year’s Cruise Experience Teams will board the 114,000-ton cruise ship Costa Serena departing from Daesan Port in Seosan, Chungcheongnam Province on Friday, June 13. The teams will visit Okinawa, Japan and Keelung, Taiwan before arriving at Busan Port on Friday, June 19 for a 6-night, 7-day international cruise itinerary.

   * Daesan (boarding, June 13) → Sea (June 14) → Okinawa (June 15-16) → Keelung (June 17) → Sea (June 18) → Busan (disembarking, June 19)

  Eligibility is open to Korean citizens aged 19 or older who have no grounds for disqualification for overseas travel, and two people may apply together per team. Selected applicants for the experience teams will receive support for the cruise fare but will have to cover some expenses such as port excursions.

  To apply for the experience program, applicants can submit their application from Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 AM (KST) to Tuesday, April 28 at 5:00 PM (KST) through the recruitment menu on the MOF website (www.mof.go.kr). For detailed information regarding the application process, including precautions and instructions, they may contact Lotte Tour Development Co., Ltd. (02-2075-3400, 3810).

  The selection results will be announced on Thursday, April 30 at 3:00 PM (KST) on the MOF website (www.mof.go.kr), Facebook (www.facebook.com/mofkor), and blog (blog.naver.com/koreamof). Selected applicants will also be notified individually.

  “We hope that the operation of the Experience Program will serve as an opportunity to contribute to expanding domestic cruise tourism demand. We will continue to enhance the competitiveness of the cruise industry by improving policies and systems that the public can experience firsthand,” said Yoo Eun-won, Director General of Marine Policy at MOF.
