Enjoy Seasonal Seafood at Affordable Prices This Warm Spring!
- The 'Korea Fisheries Fair – Fishermen’s Day Special Promotion' will be held, offering discounts of up to 50%
- 'People’s Value Mackerel,' available at even more reasonable prices, will also be offered for sale

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced that it will hold the “Korea Fisheries Fair – Fishermen’s Day Special Promotion” to help stabilize prices in response to recent increases driven by the situation in the Middle East, and to promote the consumption of seasonal spring seafood in celebration of Fishermen’s Day (April 1).

This event will run for 19 days from March 25 (Wed) to April 12 (Sun)at 56 sales channels nationwide, including retail stores and online malls. Consumers will be able to purchase seafood products at discounts of up to 50%. Discounted items include widely consumed species (such as pollock, mackerel, hairtail, squid, yellow corvina, and dried anchovies), as well as high-demand products like laver and abalone, for which increased consumption is encouraged.

  * Participating retailers: 24 offline outlets (5 hypermarkets and 19 small and medium-sized retailers), and 32 online platforms.

In particular, as rising mackerel prices have recently increased the cost burden felt by the public, the event will feature a separately prepared “People’s Value Mackerel” (approximately 300g per pack) to help consumers purchase at more reasonable prices. Detailed information, including participating locations and the event period, is available on the official website of the Korea Fisheries Fair (www.fsale.kr).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to ensure thorough oversight of the event by working with relevant organizations, including consumer groups, to monitor prices before and after the promotion so that discount rates and other conditions are properly applied.

Acting Minister of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Kim Sungbum, said, “Through this event, we aim to respond to rising prices driven by the recent situation in the Middle East and to ease the burden of living costs on the public. In particular, we will make every effort to help consumers enjoy Korean seafood at reasonable prices by expanding consumption of ‘ People’s Value Mackerel’ and seasonal spring seafood.”
