- March 13 to April 7, 2026: Public recruitment of companies eligible for the 2026 Overseas Port Market Entry Support Program
|
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) announced that it would be holding a public recruitment for the 2026 Overseas Port Market Entry Support program from Friday, March 13 to Tuesday, April 7, targeting Korean construction and engineering companies planning to enter the overseas port development market.
In line with the changes in the overseas port development market—which is rapidly shifting from direct government procurement to an investment development model centered on private companies—MOF has operated a project to support the overseas expansion of domestic construction and engineering companies since 2021. The project subsidizes 70% of costs related to overseas expansion, such as feasibility studies (up to KRW 300 million). Starting this year, the number of supported projects will expand from two to three to strengthen the bidding competitiveness of Korean companies. Support for feasibility study costs in overseas port development projects involving large-scale capital investment is expected to reduce uncertainty significantly.
Companies wishing to participate can visit the Korea Ports Association website (www.koreaports.or.kr) or the Overseas Port Development Information Service website (www.coscop.or.kr) for details. Applications and required documents may be submitted in person to the Overseas Port Development Cooperation Support Headquarters of the Korea Ports Association or sent by mail or email (kpha1001@koreaports.or.kr). Eligible companies will be finally selected following an evaluation of business proposals. For any other inquiries, contact the Overseas Port Development Cooperation Support Division of the Korea Ports Association (☎02-2165-0136).
"We hope that this project will strengthen the bidding competitiveness of Korean companies and increase the number of successful overseas entry cases. We will continue to lower the barriers for companies seeking to enter foreign markets by gathering opinions from overseas port construction stakeholders and improving the relevant systems. We will also provide all-encompassing support to help enhance Korea's presence in the overseas port development market," said Gong Du-pyo, Director General of Ports at MOF.
