Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Chun Jae-soo visited Daecheon Port in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam Province on Wednesday, September 3 and inspected fishing vessel safety in cooperation with the relevant organizations including Chungcheongnam Province, Boryeong City, Korea Coast Guard, and National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives. Minister Chun first received a report from the Director General of Chungcheongnam Province’s Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Bureau on the current status of fishing vessels and fishing vessel accidents in the Chungcheongnam region and preventive measures. He then boarded the 7th Sunbokho (31 tons, offshore fishing net) and other fishing vessels at the dock, inspected the safety management status of navigational and life-saving equipment, and encouraged the captain and other officials.
