Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Chun Jae-soo visited Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul on Friday, August 29 to inspect fishery product prices and held a meeting with the presidents of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and heads of regional cooperative associations. Minister Chun toured seafood stores, observed price trends for popular fish species, and closely examined the supply situation to ensure that there were no impacts due to high water temperatures. The meeting held after the tour was attended by the Chairman of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and 13 representatives of regional cooperative associations. At this event, Minister Chun discussed key issues in the fisheries sector including climate change response, offshore wind power development, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the fisheries industry and fishing villages.
