Holding the K-Seafood Cooking Show in Milan with Fabri
  • K-Fish Cooking Show in Milan, Italy to promote Korean seafood products

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Chun Jae-soo) announced that it held a K-Fish Cooking Show with Chef Fabrizio Ferrari in Milan, Italy on October 23 (local time) to increase awareness of Korean seafood products overseas.

K-Fish is a national integrated export brand with guaranteed high quality by MOF to increase global awareness of Korean marine products and expand exports. It includes 16 items* that have passed strict quality evaluation standards for permission to use.

    * 16 types of products including flounder, abalone, dried laver, sea cucumber, oyster, crab meat, fish cake, squid, conger eel, tuna, seaweed, clams, fish roe, mackerel, anchovy, and kelp are used after undergoing quality evaluation and approval from a group of experts.

This year's Milan K-Fish Cooking Show provided an opportunity to showcase the potential uses and excellence of Korean seafood products and for local people to taste the food firsthand. In particular, Fabrizio Ferrari, who is famous in Korea and other countries, presented K-Fish dishes targeting local tastes—such as Eomuk (fish cake) Involtini and Tuna Mayo Yubu Sushi—using Korean tuna and fish cake.

In addition, the Consumer PR and Experience Hall* is linked to the cooking-supported activities to promote and develop sales channels for Korean seafood products by inviting the press, consumers, and influencers to taste-test stir-fried fish cakes and tuna crostini and promoting K-Fish products.

“I hope this event will be an opportunity to inform overseas consumers of the excellence of Korean seafood products and establish a localization strategy for K-Fish. We will continue to support actively the advancement of K-Fish—our national representative brand—into overseas markets so that it can lead the world including the European market,” said Yoon Sang-hoon, Director General of MOF’s Export Processing Promotion Division.
